Rivière St-Maurice
The Saint-Maurice River is one of the largest tributaries of the Saint Lawrence River. Traversing the Mauricie region of La Tuque in Trois-Rivières for 587 kilometres, the Saint-Maurice River presents a challenge for nautical and aquatic events due, on the one hand, to its calm waters where participants need to demonstrate their speed and, on the other, to its rapids where their agility and experience are put to the test. The river has also played host for more than 75 years to a leg of the Triple Crown of North America Long-Distance Canoe Race at the "Classique de la Mauricie" international canoe competition. The region is also home to several other bodies of water.
