Espace Shawinigan is the ideal location to hold trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and events.
With its state-of-the-art technological and communication equipment, it is the best equipped venue of its kind between Montreal and Quebec. Located in the heart of the City of Shawinigan along the shores of the Saint-Maurice River, Espace Shawinigan is easily accessible and adapted to meet the special needs of the disabled.
The buildings occupied by Espace Shawinigan were formerly home to an aluminium smelting complex. It was here, in 1901, that the very first aluminium ingot was cast on Canadian soil. In 2001, the complex was declared a Canadian historical site and the Cité de l’énergie has since undertaken a vast restoration program to protect this unique heritage site, the only one of its kind in North America. The Cité de l’énergie won the Architecture Award of Excellence from the Quebec Order of Architects in 2005 and the National Meetings Industry Day Influence Award in 2006.

The Cité de l’énergie gives you the option of organizing your events in the observatory of the 115 metre high observation tower or in three other rooms of varying sizes, one of which is equipped with a projection screen and theatre-style seating to accommodate screenings or conferences.
